AT&T Putting Their Money Where Their Mouth Is?

The last time I used the AT&T “your service sucks on my iPhone” app was months ago. Today, I got the following text message:
AT&T Free Msg: AT&T appreciates your Mark the Spot feedback from San Luis Obispo CA on 12/9/2009. We are pleased to inform you that we have a new cell site planned near your submission in the next 60-90 days. If you have any further comments or feedback, you may reply to this msg for free. Thank you, AT&T.

I didn’t think that app did anything. I always found it ridiculous that you had to send in info where there’s no data over a data connection.

Agreed. I suspect the app was released in the spirit of, “that’ll shut ‘em up a while!”
To my understanding, a new tower would take a load off existing towers, plus give better coverage. I just hope they follow through with it. A new tower in SLO would really be great.
